Tallaght Hospital School was established alongside the opening of Tallaght University Hospital in 1998, with the aim of supporting the educational needs of children and young people during periods of illness or hospitalisation.

Located within one of Ireland’s leading teaching hospitals, the school has grown alongside the hospital community and works closely with families, medical teams and home schools to ensure continuity of learning for every child.

At Tallaght Hospital School, we provide education and support for children and young people who are inpatients in Children's Health Ireland at Tallaght. We teach both primary and post primary students, helping them to remain connected to learning during their hospital stay.

Our teaching takes place both at the bedside and in our bright, welcoming classroom space, where we aim to create a positive and supportive learning environment tailored to each student's individual needs. We work closely with families, medical staff and home schools to ensure every child feels included, encouraged and empowered throughout their time with us.
